New Site!

If you’ve noticed that it’s been pretty quiet around here lately, then your definitely on to something! Over the past few weeks I’ve been going through the process of moving Liv with Vision to a new platform. While this current platform has been great for the past year we’ve started to out grow it, so the time has come to put my big girl shoes on and step up!

I cant wait for you to explore the new site! Over the coming months we’ll be starting to add some more varied content and I’m super keen to start sharing a few of my favourite recipes. Liv with Vision was originally a platform I wanted to create to be a space for more than just interiors and I feel now I can do just that!

If you’re currently signed up to receive notifications through WordPress you’ll no longer receive these, however feel free to re-subscribe at our new site here.

Liv with Vision - NEW Site!

Liv Loves

Hey Peeps! What’s happened around here this week? A lot of celebration (for our one year wedding anniversary), some online shopping, late nights painting around the house and very busy days at work! All in all, it’s been a full-on week and it’s not going to be stopping until about 6pm on Sunday. This weekend I’m going to be helping out a friend at the Finders Keepers market in Sydney. While I’m going to be there to actually work, I’m really looking forward to checking out all the vendors and feeling the vibe of this type of market. It looks to be a bit higher end than the typical town centre market and I think there is going to be more than a few inspiring stalls that will have me wanting to empty my bank account! Anyway, before all the fun and madness begins below are a few moments and inspiring bits a pieces from the week that was. I hope you all enjoy your weekend, if you happen to be in town stop by the markets!

Bathers’ Pavilion – Is where it all happened last year, so we thought it only fitting that going back to the scene of the crime would be a perfect way to celebrate. I absolutely love it here, the perfect spot for a relaxed breakfast or special dinner – it’s casual, but elegant. The food is divine, delicate and perfectly balanced. The architecture is timeless and to top it all off, Bather’s is nestled in our of my favourite pockets of Sydney – Balmoral beach.

Just Dessert – So I just couldn’t not share this with you all! Strawberry mousse, raspberry meringue, lychee sorbet, Prosecco jelly, orange cream and a crystal rose petal – this was the most incredible dessert I have ever had. Yep, my mouth is (still) watering too.

Time to wash – Now moving on from favourite moments, and back to favourite finds – how great is this laundry? We’re in the process of renovating ours and hopefully it’ll be just the inspiration required to stop the procrastinating and get on with the job!

Blush, Grey and Copper

Blush – the colour on everyone cheeks has definitely transitioned its way into fashion and homes over the past few months. Mixed with moody hues like grey or charcoal it’s a colour that is soft enough to be pretty, but neutral enough to work in homes in place of boring beige or typical taupe. Throw in the latest metal trend – copper – and you have yourself a room that is set to please many. I love how this colour palette can be put together for a nursery or grown up lounge room. It’s modern, chic, young and fun – what more could you want?

What it’s like inside a Fashion Designers home

It’s not everyday you get to take a peek inside the home of a world famous Fashion Designer, so when I stumbled upon these pictures of Colette Dinnigan’s home in Paddington I couldn’t resist. The fashion icon’s home will be going up for sale very soon and – as all things wonderful happen when property goes on the market – we get a sneak peak at some of the home’s best features.

This particular home is a gorgeous sandstone building dating back to the 1880’s and Colette Dinnigan’s has styled her home in an absolutely stunning way, inside and out. From the gorgeous, marble kitchen to the stunning bathroom and bedrooms alike, the most has been made out of this home’s natural beauty – enhancing the original architecture and sandstone. Mostly light and neutral furnishings allow the sandstone detail to take centre stage as does paired back styling which keeps the spaces from looking overly busy. So, grab a cup of tea and let yourself escape the daily grind for a minute – this is kind of home that dreams are made of…

The Block Room Reveals – Terraces (week 10)

And so the apartments are complete – with the final whistle from Scotty Cam, all rooms have now been revealed inside AND out. It was an emotional week for all but they have reached the light at the end of the tunnel and can all say they have completed The Block! Terraces are one of the most exciting rooms for delivery as they are so different from any other space inside. Being the centre point for most of the apartments, these terraces had to be pretty special and provide a beautiful outlook for various rooms of each apartment, and it was so great to see that all of them did just that…

Josh & Charlotte: For their last reveal, Josh and Charlotte pulled together a very functional and clever terrace. I really loved their playful vertical garden and how it pays a little reference to the all time favourite childhood game – Tetris. The suspended light fittings also give the space a fun element while still keeping in style with the simplicity of their apartment. Finally, and probably their smartest move was keeping all the furniture on wheels, giving the space a lot of flexibility for entertaining or relaxing. Being a small outdoor area, they really have made the most of this space and there really isn’t much to fault! I hope Josh & Charlotte are really proud of the apartment they’ve created and that it pays off for them come auction day.

Tim & Anastasia: From budget woes to walking off the show, it’s a miracle that Tim & Anastasia were able to finish this space. Having completed it on a shoe-string budget, they’ve done an exceptionally good job. The mains bones of this terrace are really lovely, from the timber framing through to the vertical garden and bamboo screening. They have created a lush oasis, but from that point onwards I had to agree with the judges that they space was a little over crowded. Some careful editing of the dining setting (perhaps a smaller 4-seater), removal of the hanging chair and reducing the collection of pot plants will go a long way to help create the illusion of more space.

Ayden & Jess: As always, Jess & Ayden finished the week off with big smiles and a great space. Utilising their vouchers and using the concrete wall cladding, they produced and bright and airy outdoor space that can double up as a summer lounge room. With excellent privacy, this space will be perfect for hot summer days and balmy nights. Their Vertical garden is lush and the reclaimed MCG gate is a great, quirky edition that fits beautifully with their apartment. I really liked the way this spaced was styled and their pendant lights are just the right finishing touch (and like grown up disco balls in all the right ways).

Darren & Deanne: Finishing off with the final reveal of the season was really quite bitter/sweet. Darren and Deanne produced a space that is absolutely stunning, but I’m a little sad that this will be there last. I’ve really enjoyed watching these apartments come together, especially Darren & Deanne’s – here’s hoping that this wont be the last we see of her beautiful style. But back to their garden/terrace/oasis/heaven – with a mixture of old and new, grass to play on, a lush jungle and a gorgeous sitting area, this terrace has it all and really is the crowning jewel of their apartment. It’s like Neale said, this completed their apartment and made the whole unit make sense. Rightly so, they took home the winning prize and finished their two seasons of the Block with a perfect score of 30/30. Here’s hoping they really do finish on a high with a very successful auction result!
